Flash Flood Watch – Fort Bend County 9/22/2020

September 22, 2020

A Condition Yellow for Flash Flooding is in effect for the following locations through 7:00 AM CDT.

Label

Location

A

Fort Bend County TX 307 Fort St.

  • A portion of southeast Texas, including the following areas, Brazoria Islands, Chambers, Coastal Brazoria, Coastal Galveston, Coastal Harris, Fort Bend, Galveston Island and Bolivar Peninsula, Inland Brazoria, Inland Galveston, Inland Harris, Montgomery, Northern Liberty and Southern Liberty.
  • Until 7 AM CDT Wednesday
  • Moderate to heavy rainfall is occurring in the rain bands associated with Beta. These areas have been primed to flood due to rainfall from the past few days. The threat of flooding along the coast is also increased due to storm surge potentially reducing the ability of rainfall to drain. Periods of heavy rainfall will be possible through Wednesday morning.
  • This prolonged period of rainfall will have the potential to produce life-threatening street and structure flooding, especially from Southern Harris County to northern Brazoria County and northern Galveston County where heavy rainfall and associated flash flooding occurred Monday evening.
