FAA Part 107 (sUAS) Flight School and Test Prep Class Hosted by Fort Bend County

July 6, 2018

The Fort Bend County Office of Emergency Management is hosting a Part 107 training class at the County Fairgrounds on July 23-27. The class will cover all the materials on the FAA’s Part 107 exam, and includes the testing and licensing fees. Each agency and department will need to fund the cost the class participants at $1200 per person.

Similar classes have been offered in the past and our staff enjoyed the hands-on approach, the time spent on complicated topics like airport operations and sectional charts, and the real-world emergency management experience of the instructors.

This class is being offered by the Center for Robot-Assisted Search and Rescue and the Florida State University’s Center for Disaster Risk Policy.

Thursday and Friday are reserved for FAA testing and hands-on flight training, and on Thursday the Drone Operators Group will join the class at the fairgrounds for flight practice. You will complete the course with valuable knowledge, experience, and a FAA sUAS pilot’s license.

For more information about the class, view the flyer: Syllabus – UAS Part 107 Training

To register for the class, view the registration page on our website.

This class is capped at 16 participants and we have some per-registered; the remaining seats will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
