The Fort Bend County Office of Emergency Management has been continually monitoring the Brazos River along with all our public and private partners. On August 30th, this footage was collected by Roboticists from Texas A&M Engineering in cooperation with Fort Bend County officials. By utilizing boots on the ground, reports on water levels from agency partners, and new technology like drones, we can aid the effort to keep residents safe.
Fort Bend County continues to deal with a record breaking flood on the Brazos River. Levels at the Richmond bridge, are at 55.07’ with projected crest 56.00’. Residents should expect to see new road closings on access roads to neighborhoods in and around the Brazos River until these waters begin to recede. If you have to be on the roads today, please use caution and avoid driving into water over any roadways.
