FBCLEPC May 2020 Meeting CANCELLED

May 19, 2020

The Fort Bend County offices remain closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Alan Spears advised that the OEM staff has moved to the Gus George Law Enforcement Academy and the former FBC HS & EM building at 407 Fort Street is being prepped for destruction by contractors and eventual construction of the new facility. He further advised that personal meetings remain on HOLD, which includes the FBC LEPC meetings. Our chair, Jorge Galindo, concurred in the decision to cancel the May meeting due to FBC COVID-19 prevention policies.

Future meetings are expected to be held at the temporary OEM location until the new OEM facility is finished construction in a couple of years. Information about future meetings will be disseminated when details are known. Feel free to communicate with Jorge or Shayne or the undersigned for questions.

It is hoped that addressees, their families, and coworkers are safe and remain healthy.

In the event posting the files does not succeed, check the FBC LEPC website at www.fbclepc.org as they usually get posted there even when the distribution to members does not succeed. I’m still trying to make this work as a tool for the LEPC but success and been inconsistent.

FBC LEPC Meeting Today Is POSTPONED

September 19, 2019

Severe weather in the region is making it unsafe to be out on the road. I just returned from an appointment in Clear Lake and the rain was extremely heavy driving up the Grand Parkway. The LEPC Chairman consulted with leadership and the FBC HS&EM office and decided not to have a meeting today under current weather conditions.

The monthly meeting of the FBC LEPC will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2019, in the Media Room, Homeland Security & Emergency Management Office, 703 Fort Street, Richmond, Texas.  Please plan to attend and participate next week.

In the meantime, stay safe and if you don’t have to be on the road, stay home or at work. Many roadways are becoming impassable and dangerous. When faced with water ponding on the road, Turn Around, Don’t Drown. Monitor KTRH-740 AM radio for current weather conditions.
