Access to Kingdom Heights

September 3, 2017

FORT BEND COUNTY, TEXAS — The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office is allowing residents living in Kingdom Heights to enter the neighborhood as long as special care is taken to travel through standing water.

Fort Bend County Judge Hebert has issued a Mandatory Evacuation Order for Kingdom Heights, but the order allows for law enforcement to permit entry at their discretion.  Deputies present have determined that residents may enter in a vehicle that sits high enough to handle the water and at low speeds.

Officials will continue to monitor the water levels and the mandatory evacuation order will be lifted as soon as the water is cleared from the roads.

County Judge Bob Hebert said, “I want to get people back home and safe.  There is still water on FM 723, so please adhere to  the instruction of law enforcement on the scene. Fort Bend County Road and Bridge will continue to monitor the water level and I will lift the mandatory order as soon as the water has drained.”
